The topic of sustainability in fashion is complex and sometimes confusing. To broaden

our horizons we went into conversations with experts. Their backgrounds are very different, from NGO to education, textile sourcing or fashion design. The one thing

they all have in common is their commitment for a sustainable change in the fashion industry. We had the honor to ask them questions and to share it with you. 

Ayesha Barenblat is a social entrepreneur from San Francisco with a strong passion for building sustainable supply chains that respect people and our planet. With over a decade of leadership to promote social justice and sustainability within the fashion industry, she founded REMAKE to ignite a conscious consumer movement. Remake’s films, stories and immersive journeys rebuild human connections with the women who make our clothes. She truly is a force of nature and it was an honor to talk with her.

Throughout her career Martina Glomb designed fashion for commercials, film and theatre and worked as a designer at Vivienne Westwood. Since 2005 she is leading the fashion design department at the University of Applied Sciences and

Art in Hannover, founded the "USE–LESS" Center as well as

the research project "INNABE  – Innovationen für nachhaltige Bekleidung". Not only she has enormous experience in the field

of sustainable fashion, she also puts all her effort into researching, educating about sustainability as well as connecting professionals of the industry.

Leo Rosario is a New York native and works in the fashion industry since more than 30 years. She has all the knowledge and contacts when it comes to textile sourcing and materials and constantly tries to contribute to the growth of the green and sustainable sector of the textile industry. She worked for brands like EDUN and Zero – by Maria Cornejo.

Annie Keating has a background in textile and material design. She is passionate about supporting the textile and apparel industry in making sustainable strides towards reduced waste and circularity. She works for FABSCRAB, a convenient and transparent recycling and reuse SERVICE, that collects fabrics from deigners and labels in New York City and makes them accessible for further use.

Anna Zeitler is â€‹a fashion designer and lecturer from Germany. she is leading workshops for sustainable consumerism focused on fashion, and also teaches in this matter at universities and schools from primary to senior classes all over Germany.
